Ingredients of Chocolate Lava Cake:
4 ounces (113 grams) of high-quality dark chocolate
1/2 cup (115 grams) of unsalted butter
1/4 cup (50 grams) of granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 large egg yolks
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1/4 cup (30 grams) of all-purpose flour
Pinch of salt
Optional: powdered sugar, vanilla ice cream, or fresh berries for serving
Instructions of making a Chocolate Lava Cake:
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease and lightly flour four ramekins or small baking dishes.
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the dark chocolate and butter together in 30-second increments, stirring until smooth. Let it cool slightly.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, eggs, egg yolks, and vanilla extract until well combined.
Gradually pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, whisking constantly until smooth.
Sift the flour and salt over the chocolate mixture, then gently fold them in until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins or baking dishes.
Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes. The edges should be set, but the center should still be slightly jiggly.
Remove the lava cakes from the oven and let them cool for a minute. You can run a knife around the edges to help release them from the ramekins.
Carefully invert each lava cake onto a serving plate. Dust with powdered sugar if desired and serve immediately, topped with vanilla ice cream or fresh berries.
Enjoy your decadent Chocolate Lava Cakes straight from the oven!
