Ingredients of Beef Fajitas
1 lb (450g) flank steak, thinly sliced
2 bell peppers (red, green, or yellow), thinly sliced
1 large onion, thinly sliced
2 tbsp olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp oregano
Juice of 1 lime
Salt and pepper to taste
Flour tortillas, for serving
Optional toppings: sour cream, guacamole, salsa, shredded cheese
Instructions for making Beef Fajitas:
Marinate the Steak:
In a large bowl, combine the sliced steak, minced garlic, cumin, smoked paprika, chili powder, oregano, lime juice, salt, and pepper.
Mix well, ensuring the steak is evenly coated with the spices. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes, or refrigerate for up to 2 hours for a deeper flavor.
Cook the Vegetables:
In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat.
Add the sliced onions and bell peppers to the skillet, and cook for 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender and slightly caramelized.
Remove the vegetables from the skillet and set them aside.
Cook the Steak:
In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil.
Add the marinated steak to the skillet in a single layer, and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the steak is cooked to your desired level of doneness.
Combine and Serve:
Return the cooked vegetables to the skillet with the steak, and toss everything together until well combined and heated through.
Serve the beef fajitas with warm flour tortillas and your favorite toppings, such as sour cream, guacamole, salsa, and shredded cheese.
Enjoy your flavorful and sizzling Beef Fajitas!
