Turkey and Spinach Meatballs

Turkey and Spinach Meatballs

Ingredients of Turkey and Spinach Meatballs

1 lb ground turkey
1 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 egg
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions for making Turkey and Spinach Meatballs:

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

Mix the Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, chopped spinach, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, onion powder, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix everything together until well combined.

Form the Meatballs: Using your hands, form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. Place each meatball onto the prepared baking sheet.

Cook the Meatballs: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the meatballs in batches, browning them on all sides. This should take about 2-3 minutes per side.

Bake: Transfer the browned meatballs back to the baking sheet. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and no longer pink in the center.

Serve: Serve the turkey and spinach meatballs with your favorite marinara sauce, over pasta, or on their own as a healthy snack.

Tips:

You can substitute the breadcrumbs with almond flour for a low-carb option.
Add some red pepper flakes to the mixture if you like a little spice.
These meatballs freeze well. After baking, allow them to cool completely before storing in an airtight container in the freezer.
